Established in 1998, Epi Center MedSpa was the first medical spa concept of its kind to open in the United States. Dr. Scott Mosser, M.D, Medical Director & Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Scott Mosser is a nationally recognized and published surgeon. Dr. Mosser has dedicated his life to the art of facial and whole body cosmetic surgery. Among Dr. Mosser’s many distinctions, he was a Fulbright Scholar to Ecuador and participated in a year long aesthetic surgery fellowship, studying under an internationally recognized plastic surgeon. Dr. Mosser was also selected to start up the cosmetic surgery department for Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, and is the Medical Director for the Epi Center MedSpa. With over 7 years of comprehensive general and plastic surgery training, Dr. Mosser has the dedication and experience to enhance your natural appearance.

Dr. Patrick H. Bitter, Sr., M.D., Cosmetic Dermatologist

san francisco dermatologist World-recognized Cosmetic Dermatologist, Dr. Patrick Bitter, Sr. has been practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 37 years and founded the Epi Center MedSpa along with Margaret Mitchell in 1998. As a cosmetic dermatologist, his passion is skin rejuvenation and laser technology. In 1995, he was one of the first to purchase Intense Pulsed Light technology and began developing treatment protocols for skin rejuvenation. In 1998, Dr. Bitter went public with his research and introduced the PhotoFacial^SM procedure. This treatment, also known as IPL PhotoRejuvenation, is now performed around the globe. Dr. Bitter performed the FDA clinical trials for hair removal, collagen, and several laser procedures.

Jennifer Schaefer-Fick, RN, BSN, Director of Nursing

Jennifer Shaefer-Fick began working for Dr. Bitter in 1998. She worked closely with Dr. Bitter as he developed the PhotoFacialSM procedure and has been performing Intense Pulsed Light treatments on a daily basis since 1998. Jennifer has presented at physician workshops and teaches other physicians the art and science of performing IPL, laser and cosmetic procedures. She is recognized for her expertise with laser and IPL, and considered an expert with BOTOX® Cosmetic and Restylane® injections by many medical professionals that travel to her to administer their treatment.

Margaret Mitchell, President and Founder, Epi Center Med Spa

Margaret Mitchell is a nationally renowned practice management consultant who specializes in developing and managing aesthetic and cosmetic practices. She began working with Dr. Bitter in 1996 transforming his medical practice from general dermatology to cosmetic and developed the marketing that introduced the PhotoFacial^SM procedure. Together, in 1998, Margaret and Dr. Bitter opened the first medical spa concept, Epi Center MedSpa, to provide a spa-like experience to those having cosmetic treatments. Margaret is also President of Aesthetic Marketing Concepts, LLC, a medical marketing and advertising firm.

Erin Pell, Patient Coordinator

Erin is our Patient Coordinator and has been in the medical spa industry since 2004. Starting as an aesthetician at a prominent Portland, Oregon-based medical spa, Erin was quickly promoted to management. With her friendly and selfless attitude, Erin is a great listener and always willing to go the extra mile for our clients. Erin was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and now resides in San Francisco. Steeped in San Franciscan culture, she belongs to several professional organizations that support the local arts, from opera to ballet. Relentlessly committed to philanthropic causes, Erin also works with the Marine Mammal Center, Baykids, and the San Francisco Stables Foundation. Ever the aficionado, Erin enjoys her time keeping pace with new restaurant openings and the constant explosion of new "hot spots" the city has to offer. One can also find Erin taking in a good movie, shopping, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Inessa Samodeeva, RN, BSN

Inessa serves as a seasoned nurse practitioner and brings a wealth of experience to the Epi Center MedSpa team. A practiced OB/GYN physician, Inessa attended medical school in Belarus. Since coming to the United States, and working as a registered nurse in Kaiser Permananteâs maternity department, Inessa also found time to develop her cosmetic expertise at a prominent laser center situated in the San Diego/La Jolla area. Skilled in laser hair removal, Inessa joined the Epi Center MedSpa team in 2002. Under the careful supervision and guidance of Patrick Bitter, Sr., M.D. and Scott W. Mosser, M.D., Inessa has since become trained and certified in PhotoFacial^SM, BOTOX¨ Cosmetic, Restylane¨, Sclerotherapy, and Obagi treatments, chemical peels, and various clinical skin care product lines. She enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Rebecca Bobrowsky, RN BSN

Rebecca has been working at the Epi Center since early 2005. She came to us not only experienced in nursing, but as a licensed cosmetologist. Her passion has always been in the cosmetic industry as well as nurturing people to a healthier lifestyle. Rebecca is trained and certified by Patrick Bitter, Sr., MD and Scott W. Mosser, MD in laser hair removal, PhotoFacial^SM, BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, Obagi, chemical peels, and various clinical skin care product lines. Originally from Charlotte, NC, Rebecca now resides in Walnut Creek. She enjoys runny, freelance photography, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her son.
