PhotoFacialSM Elite gets the Red Out

Before & After Treatment

Does your face seem to look red on a regular basis? Do you flush when having a glass of wine or when you become flustered? It is estimated that over 70 million Americans have some signs of rosacea or facial veins. Advanced stages of rosacea lead to major skin texture changes and sometimes facial disfigurement.

Dermatologist of 45+ years and developer of the PhotoFacialSM treatment, Patrick Bitter Sr, MD tested many types of pharmaceuticals and cosmetic therapies before coming to the conclusion that the only way to fight these unsightly facial veins was to eliminate them by using Intense Pulsed Light. Contrary to what the manufactures recommended for treatment, we found that several treatments over a period of time would eliminate these veins as well as build up the surrounding tissue for a better skin texture.

Dr. Patrick Bitter Sr. and the Epi Center MedSpa staff have taught physicians worldwide this proprietary treatment, PhotoFacialSM Elite, which corrects the appearance of Rosacea and facial veins.

Don’t let this easily correctable skin problem get out of control. Read more about how PhotoFacialSM Elite treatment can help you.

Laser Hair Removal

Before & After

If you have ever been bothered by unwanted hair, now is the time to consider Laser Hair Removal. In 1996 we participated in the FDA clinical trials for hair removal and were one of 11 physician offices in the US to contribute to the development of hair removal treatments and settings. We have been treating unwanted hair removal with Intense Pulsed Light and/or Laser for 12 years and have performed an estimate of over 40,000 cases.

Since that time we continued the development of the hair removal process specifically for darker skin types. Most hair removal lasers are FDA approved for treatment of hair on darker skin types; however the settings used involve little energy in order to protect the skin. Dr. Patrick Bitter Sr. developed a pre-treatment protocol that protects the skin so that the necessary setting can be used to achieve hair removal in as few treatments as possible.

Before & After

Experience makes a huge difference in overall results and cost. The fewer the treatments, the less you pay. Once we discovered that not everyone requires the same number of treatments to achieve their desired results, we stopped offering package pricing and began allowing our patients to pay as they have a treatment.

Turning the Tables on Breast Augmentation

Six months after FDA approval, Dr. Mosser answers questions about why silicone breast implants are back to being the most popular choice.

Breast Augmentation

In November 2006 the US Food and Drug Administration approved the use of silicone gel breast implants for breast augmentation, lifting their 14-year ban. The FDA approval was eagerly awaited by both plastic surgeons and patients and - six months later - silicone gel implants have in fact become the preferred choice over saline-filled implants in Dr. Mosser’s practice.

Silicone gel implants had been allowed only for breast cancer reconstructive surgery and approved medical trials in the US, but continued to be used widely in Europe and many other countries around the world for breast augmentation.

Throughout the 1990s silicone gel implants became probably the most exhaustively tested and studied medical devices in US medical history. Independent studies concluded that this type of implant was not associated with connective tissue disease or cancer, and no convincing evidence was found of any link to health problems such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. Numerous scientific studies over the years, both in the US and abroad, have shown that silicone gel-filled implants are both safe and effective for breast augmentation and reconstruction.

Q: Why do women prefer silicone now that it’s available?

A: Probably the major reason for choosing silicone is that it simply looks and feels much more natural than saline. Trends in breast augmentation are towards obtaining not just an increase in breast size but in achieving a natural, balanced appearance.

Q: Which is safer, saline or silicone?

A: Saline-filled implants have enjoyed a fine safety record over the past 14 years, but confidence has now been restored in the safety of silicone. Also, improvement in the texture of the silicone gel used has also lessened risks of leakage if the implant is ruptured, previously a concern.

Q: Which lasts longer, saline or silicone?

A: There is evidence that silicone implants may last longer. It should be remembered however that breast implants, whether filled with saline or silicone, are not considered lifetime devices and may need to be replaced at some time in the future. It is interesting to note that in most other countries, where both saline and silicone implants have been available throughout the past 14 years, the vast majority of women choose silicone, a trend that is now returning to busy practices in the United States like Dr. Mosser’s.

Acne Breakthrough

Cleansiderm

Cleansiderm by Obagi

Dermatologist Dr. Obagi developed a skin care product over 15 years ago that to this day is one of the most effective treatment programs for the treatment of melasma and uneven pigmentation called Obagi Nu Derm. This product is used worldwide and is especially popular in the Asian and Middle Eastern countries.

Now Obagi has developed an acne treatment product line that is becoming equal in popularity as the Nu Derm system. This 3-step program is safe and effective in fighting the bacteria involved with acne. At the Epi Center MedSpa, we take it a step further by combining the two Obagi systems and helping those who suffer from pigmentation and scars as a result of their acne.

Of course products alone are not the answer. A product and treatment combination therapy is customized for each individual for optimal results. Often Microdermabrasion or chemical peels accelerate the process allowing the Cleansiderm program to quickly affect the problem areas.

Schedule a Microdermabrasion or Classic Exfoliation and our clinical aestheticians will develop a program to follow the treatment that will result in clean, clear skin! Buy products on-line at our website.

Benzoyl Peroxide
CLENZIderm M.D. Pentrates Skin
<<

Introducing Obagi CLENZIderm M.D.™, the only prescription-strength, physician dispensed acne system with a patent pending 5% liquefied benzoyl peroxide.

>>

CLENZIderm M.D.™ is clinically proven to better penetrate the follicles for rapid lesion reduction and effective P. acnes bacteria reduction.*

A breakthrough acne treatment, CLENZIderm M.D.™ is a three-step system. It is the only liquefied form of 5% benzoyl peroxide solubilized to 1/10,000 the size of any other benzoyl peroxide on the market for deeper follicular penetration.

Most benzoyl peroxides are formulated with insoluble macro-crystals that, when applied, remain largely on the surface of the skin because they are too big to penetrate the follicle.

CLENZIderm M.D.™ Serum Gel utilizes patent pending SoluZyl™ Technology in which benzoyl peroxide converts into liquid form on contact with the skin. As a result, CLENZIderm M.D.™ delivers more benzoyl peroxide deep into the follicle — for better results!

The chart illustrates the size of the average benzoyl peroxide particle, the size of the benzoyl peroxide in CLENZIderm M.D.™ and the size of a hair follicle.

Comparison Chart
  • Macro-size benzoyl peroxide crystals
(insoluble, irregular shapes and sizes) range from 0.01-0.1 mm
  • Average follicle size is 0.05 mm

CLENZIderm M.D.™ benzoyl peroxide is 10-7 mm
